General Assistant – Full Time

Thomas Goldsmiths | Derry/Londonderry

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and creative person to join our independent goldsmithing and jewellery business as a full-time General Assistant.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, appreciates good design and is happy to help wherever needed. An interest in jewellery, art, fashion, photography or other creative fields would be particularly welcome.

The role will include:

•  Welcoming customers and assisting with general enquiries
•  Helping customers choose jewellery and gifts
•  Providing administrative and day-to-day business support
•  Preparing and packaging customer orders
•  Maintaining attractive window and in-store displays
•  Photographing jewellery and helping create social media content
•  Assisting with stock control, labelling and organisation
•  Keeping the showroom and work areas tidy and presentable
•  Supporting the goldsmiths and wider team as required

The ideal candidate will be:

•  Friendly, approachable and confident speaking with customers
•  Dependable, punctual and well organised
•  Creative, with a good eye for detail and presentation
•  Comfortable using computers and social media
•  Willing to learn about jewellery, precious metals and gemstones
•  Able to work independently and as part of a small team
•  Careful and trustworthy when handling valuable items

Previous retail, customer-service or jewellery experience would be helpful, but it is not essential. Full training will be provided for the right person. A positive attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn are most important.

Position: Full time

Hours: 37 Working Hours Per Week (42.5 total hours)

Salary: Living wage

Location: Pump Street, Derry/Londonderry
